What is the difference between a 'Voice Teacher' and a 'vocal coach'?

A Voice teacher primarily teaches the fundamentals and techniques of healthy singing, such as proper posture, breath support, initiation and creation of sound, resonance, range, blending of vocal registers to eliminate vocal breaks, excellent control, endurance and stamina. Special Attention is paid to bringing awareness to any vocal faults or habits that inhibit or prevent a natural, free-flowing, and beautiful sound.

A Vocal Coach guides a student through learning repertoire while providing

feedback and advice on character development, execution, interpretation, musical phrasing, articulation, enunciation and diction, correct lyrics, pitch, intonation,

volume, breath taking, rhythms, vocal arrangements and overall musicality.

Taking care to ensure that the singer has not learned the song incorrectly,

a vocal coach will assist a student to prepare and polish songs

for auditions, recordings, recitals and live performances.
